Some knockoff transforming robot toys did show up in chain toy stores, such as the Convert-A-Bots Sky Garry and Tek Toys Voltron I-both widely available at Toys"R"Us-but they were few and far between. Many fans had luck finding them at flea markets, hole-in-the-wall non-chain toy stores, or discount stores like Big Lots. Through most of the 1990s, knockoffs were relatively difficult to find in the West.
